In a nine ball game you go from one ball to the other in order. In eight-ball you have choices. For this you must have the decision making ability and be confident that your choice is hundred percent correct.

Even league players face difficulty in an Eight-ball game. They may decide to play the twelve ball and still think about the fifteen ball. Despite making a decision they may feel uncertain. In an Eight-ball game you will face shots where you do not know what is going to happen to the cue ball. Here you can not control the cue ball which is going for a ride. Taking My Medicine

You may miss many shots because you may be trying difficult position on the next shot. In such times you may put the ball in the pocket and take the tough shot facing you. This is termed, “Taking my medicine”.

People can win eitht ball by, “taking my medicine’. You need to be straight and you must be aware that you can not get down the table. The only thing you can do is to stop the cue ball and take a chance on bank shot. So you “take my medicine” and go for the bank shot. This is the only choice you have. To think other is nothing but fooling yourself.

By adopting this “taking my medicine” strategy you can win many Eight-ball games. Only thing is you must be really good at banking balls.

Do not put yourself out of the match by missing the shot that is in front of you. Give yourself a chance to win. After every eight-ball game tell yourself three things – “I came to Win”, “I am playing for a roll” and “I take my medicine”.
